Local Sign Service
Sign Company in North Bergen
North Bergen packs a lot along Bergenline Avenue, Kennedy Boulevard, Tonnelle Avenue and the roads around them. There are busy local shopping streets, restaurants, offices, health care and mixed-use buildings. There are also industrial sites, warehouses and larger business sites.
So sign projects here come in several sizes. A Bergenline Avenue storefront depends on close up signs, awnings, windows and entrance graphics. A Tonnelle Avenue business needs signs that read from farther away. An office or medical tenant in a larger building needs directories, suite signs, privacy film, ADA signs and indoor wayfinding once customers are inside.
Since 2005, our New Jersey team has handled all of it. That includes storefront signs, channel letters, dimensional lettering, custom awnings and window graphics. It also includes office signs, directories, ADA signs, warehouse signs and vehicle graphics. We handle tenant changes and repeat sign work too.
The Corridors
This is not a single storefront market. The Township’s zoning covers business districts, industrial areas, mixed-use sites, local shops and larger business sites. The sign package should follow which of those the property is really in.
Bergenline Avenue
Pedestrian and local traffic
Busy retail, restaurants, services, offices, health care and local storefronts. Signs are read up close along a long row of shopfronts.
Kennedy Boulevard
Offices and mixed-use
Offices, medical practices, mixed-use buildings, restaurants, local shops and other business properties.
Tonnelle Avenue
Seen from a moving vehicle
Larger business, warehouse, industrial, auto, service and roadside sites. Customers may first see the business from traffic.
Mixed-use and multi-tenant buildings sit along all three. There, the outside sign only gets the visitor to the building. Directories, suite signs, reception signs and indoor wayfinding take over from there.
Bergenline Avenue
Customers arrive on foot, from nearby stores, from local parking, by bus or from across the street. They walk along a long row of storefronts. That makes several places useful for signs, each with its own role:
The storefront works better when each surface has its own job.

How It Works
Gogi Signs has served New Jersey businesses since 2005.
01
Site Survey
We measure the storefront, office, warehouse or business site. We note the signs, windows, awnings, entrances and mounting already there.
02
Design and Planning
We fit the artwork to your frontage, the sign area, the building, how customers arrive and the zoning district.
03
Fabrication and Printing
Once you approve, we build it in our shop. That covers cutting, large format printing, vinyl, finishing and wiring where needed.
04
Installation
Our insured install crew sets up site access. They remove old signs when that is part of the job, then install the new signs and graphics.
05
Future Service
Later, a tenant may change, lights may need repair or window graphics may need replacing. You may need another sign. We can come back to the property.
Tonnelle Avenue
A customer may first see the building from a moving car, not on foot. That changes the design.
The farther away the viewer, the simpler the sign needs to be.
Warehouse & Industrial
North Bergen also has warehouse, distribution, industrial, transport and service sites, mostly along the larger business and industrial roads. These sites usually need more than one sign.
Sign Rules & Approval
Two ordinance limits shape most storefront jobs here. Both deal with the glass and the lighting.
The window limit applies to promotional signs. So plan your permanent business details apart from your temporary graphics. Otherwise a seasonal promo uses up the space the storefront needs all year.
A standard lit channel letter sign is not the same as flashing lights, moving lights or tubing around the building. For signs at night, the lighting should make the sign easy to read without glare.
Before final specs, we need the exact property address, zoning district, your frontage and the building front. You or your landlord file the application. We help with drawings and paperwork, but we do not file permits for you.
Multilingual Storefronts
North Bergen has a very diverse business community. Some storefronts want English signs alongside Spanish or another language. That changes the layout. It is not just one more line.
We work through letter height, script shapes, the number of lines and logo position. We also look at sign width, viewing distance, window space and total sign area. Putting every translation on the main sign rarely works. It usually shrinks the letters until neither language reads well.
Who We Work With
We work with Bergenline storefronts, Kennedy Boulevard offices, Tonnelle Avenue business sites and the warehouses around them.
Nearby service areas: North Bergen is part of our Hudson County sign company coverage. We also serve nearby businesses through our West New York sign company, Union City sign services and Edgewater business signs pages.
Retail Stores
Storefront signs, channel letters, dimensional letters, window graphics, awnings and short term promos on local shopping streets.
Restaurants and Hospitality
Customers read the business several times before they walk in. They see the name from across the street and the awning beside it. Then hours and pickup notes at the door, and menu graphics and ADA signs inside.
Medical and Healthcare
Visitors are often there for the first time. They need outside signs, entrance signs, lobby directories, suite and reception signs and ADA room and restroom signs. Add privacy film and indoor directions, with the same names used throughout.
Professional Offices
Tenant signs on the building, lobby directories, reception signs, suite signs with swappable tenant names, and privacy graphics.
Mixed-Use and Multi-Tenant
One building may hold ground floor shops, restaurants, medical and other offices, upstairs offices and homes. The street level, shared entrance, lobby, upper floors and each tenant space all need their own layer of signs.
Warehouses and Industrial
Building signs, dock and door numbers, shipping and receiving signs, direction signs, indoor facility signs and vehicle graphics.
Property Managers
Tenant signs, directories, suite signs, window graphics, ADA and door signs, and new faces. Also parking and direction signs, dock numbers, leasing graphics, removal and repair. Each tenant’s pieces can be swapped on their own.
Service and Contracting Companies
Building signs, office signs, decals, banners, business graphics and vehicle lettering.
Tenant Changeover
An empty business space may already have useful sign parts. Before we replace everything, we look at what is really there.
A cabinet in good shape may only need a new face. An awning frame may take new fabric. A directory may only need the old tenant’s panel swapped. Existing wiring can sometimes power the new sign.
What the changeover covers
Other parts may be damaged, the wrong size or a poor fit for the new business. Those come off.
Repair & Refacing
North Bergen has many older business signs on its local shopping streets, offices and industrial sites. Over time, LEDs fail, sign faces fade and letters come loose. Vinyl wears, awning fabric ages and tenant names change. Directories go out of date and electrical parts fail.
Gogi Signs repairs and updates business signs, even when another company built them. Common service work includes:
If the old sign is still sound, a repair or a new face may make more sense. When repair is no longer practical, we can build a new sign.

Our New Jersey shop can handle it all. We take site measurements and make sign drawings. We build, print, install and repair signs, and we handle future sign changes.

FAQs
The rule covers qualifying ground floor retail, personal service, restaurant and bar businesses in the C-1 and C-2 districts. For them, temporary window ads may cover up to 25% of the ground floor window area facing public streets.
The ordinance limits qualifying promo window signs to 30 days at most.
No. North Bergen’s ordinance bans flashing signs. It also limits other eye catching lighting, such as lit tubing around roofs, doors, windows or building edges.
Send the exact property address and photos of the storefront or building. Add your logo or artwork and photos of any signs already there. Include any landlord or property sign rules you have.
