Overview
Aluminum sign panels are made from solid sheet aluminum rather than foam, plastic, corrugated board, or a composite core.
It is commonly used when a project needs a thin, durable metal panel that can be mounted to posts, walls, fences, frames, or other commercial sign structures. The metal does not rust, and the sheet can be cut, drilled, routed, bent, or shaped before graphics are added.
Thickness
Thickness affects stiffness, weight, and resistance to bending. The correct gauge depends on the panel size, mounting method, exposure, and how much support the finished sign has.
If you are unsure about file type, resolution, color, scaling, or setup, send what you have. We can review it against the actual sign or graphics project and tell you what is needed.
Material Comparison
Solid aluminum and aluminum composite material (ACM) are both widely used for rigid signage, but they are built differently. Solid aluminum is metal throughout. ACM uses thin aluminum faces bonded to a core.
For many larger flat printed panels, ACM can reduce weight while keeping the panel flat. Solid aluminum is a strong choice when the project benefits from a true sheet-metal substrate.
Graphics & Finish
Painted aluminum is common because it provides a clean surface for graphics. Depending on the project, aluminum can receive printed vinyl, cut vinyl, direct print, screen print, paint, or reflective graphics.
