Winter Vestibules

Winter Vestibules for New Jersey Storefronts and Restaurants

A winter vestibule is a small enclosure built around your front door. It blocks wind and cold, keeps heat inside and gives customers a dry place to step in. We build custom winter vestibule enclosures for New Jersey restaurants, shops, hotels and schools: solid wall panels in your color, clear windows, a full entry door and your logo, measured to your entrance and installed by our own crew. We also install in the five boroughs. See our NYC service area.

How It Works

Inside a Winter Vestibule Enclosure

Your front door stays where it is. We build a box around it with its own door, so the cold stops at the second door.

Where It Goes

Sidewalk Vestibules vs Inside Your Entrance

Most vestibules go out on the sidewalk. Some go inside, where wind comes through a lobby or an open hall.

On the sidewalk

  • Built in front of your door, out on the public sidewalk.
  • Usually needs town or city approval, and we help with the drawings and paperwork.
  • Sized to leave a clear walkway past it.
  • Panels and graphics face the street, so it works as a sign too.

Inside your entrance

  • Built inside a lobby, food hall or open entry.
  • Stops drafts from doors that open all day.
  • Fits under ceilings and around the doors you have.
  • No sidewalk approval, though your building may have its own rules.

Need a cover over the door instead of a full enclosure? See our commercial awnings.

From Survey to Install

FAQs

Winter Vestibule Questions

Straight answers to what New Jersey businesses ask about winter vestibules.

What is a winter vestibule?

A small enclosure built around a building entrance for the cold months. It adds a second door, so wind and cold stop before they reach your shop.

Is a vestibule temporary or permanent?

Many businesses put one up for the winter, and others keep it all year. Tell us which, and we plan the build for it.

Do I need a permit for a vestibule?

A vestibule on a public sidewalk usually needs approval from your town or city. We help with the drawings and paperwork.

What is a vestibule made of?

Solid wall panels and clear window panels on a metal frame, with trim at the joints and a full entry door.

Can the vestibule carry our logo?

Yes. Logos, hours, arrows and full graphics can go on the panels, in your colors.

Will customers still see my store?

Yes, through clear windows or clear panel walls. The more clear panels, the more of your storefront stays in view.

How much does a vestibule cost?

It depends on the size, the doors, the windows, the color and graphics, and the site. Send a photo of your entrance and rough sizes for a price.

When should I order a winter vestibule?

Before the cold comes. Measuring, approval and building all take time, so reach out early in the fall. Ask about rush timing when you request a quote.

Do you build vestibules in New York City?

Yes. We build custom storefront vestibules for NYC restaurants and shops in all five boroughs. See our NYC service area.
