Foam Letters and Logos

Foam Letters With Big Depth and Light Weight for New Jersey Walls

Foam letters give you big, deep letters without the weight or the price of metal. We cut letters and logos from dense urethane foam, finish the face with paint, acrylic or a thin metal laminate, and install them on office, lobby and showroom walls across New Jersey. We also install in the five boroughs; see our NYC service area.

The Basics

What Foam Letters Are

A foam letter is cut from a dense urethane foam block, so it has real depth but weighs very little.

The foam body makes the depth. The face makes the look: plain paint, a glossy acrylic face, or a thin aluminum or metal laminate face that reads like metal from across the room.

Because they are so light, foam letters are a smart pick for large logos, drywall, temporary spaces and tight budgets. They are made for inside use. For outside, look at metal or acrylic letters.

Depth and Size

Pick the Depth, Then the Height

Faced foam letters come in six standard depths, from 1/2 inch to 3 inches.

  • Deeper letters throw a bigger shadow and read better from the side.
  • Faced foam letters and logos usually run from about 4 to 25 inches tall each.
  • Thin script and small taglines need enough stroke width for the depth you pick.
  • We check your artwork against the depth before anything is cut.

From Shop to Wall

Four Ways Foam Letters Go Up on the Wall

Foam letters are light, so the mount depends on the wall and whether the letters may move later.

  1. Back of a foam letter with mounting tape strips01

    Double face tape

Low profile and quick. Best on smooth, sound walls.

  2. Back of a foam letter with threaded studs for flush mounting02

    Flush studs

Studs go into the wall for a tight, permanent fit.

  3. Back of a foam letter with studs and spacers03

    Studs with spacers

A small gap behind each letter for more shadow.

  4. Back of a foam letter with clear pad mounts04

    Pad mount

Clear pads hold the letter off the wall.

FAQs

Foam Letter Questions

Straight answers to what New Jersey businesses ask about foam letters.

What are foam letters made of?

Dense urethane foam, cut into letters and logo shapes. The face is painted, or covered with a thin acrylic or aluminum layer for a glossy or metal look.

Can foam letters go outside?

The foam letters on this page are made for inside use. For outside walls, metal, acrylic or formed plastic letters hold up better.

How deep can foam letters be?

Faced foam letters come in 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2, 2 and 3 inch depths.

How tall can foam letters be?

Faced foam letters and logos usually run from about 4 to 25 inches tall each. Tell us your wall size and we will suggest a height.

Do foam letters look cheap?

Not when they are faced. A brushed aluminum or laminate face reads like metal from normal viewing distance, and painted foam looks clean and solid.

How are foam letters mounted?

With double face tape, flush studs, studs with spacers, or pads. Tape is quickest; studs are more permanent.

Are foam letters cheaper than metal?

Yes. At the same size and depth they usually cost less, and they are much lighter to install.

Do you install foam letters in New York City?

Yes, in all five boroughs. See our NYC service area.
