Acrylic Signs and Prints Made in New Jersey

Gogi Signs has been making acrylic signage for New Jersey businesses since 2005. Acrylic is the material where the edge is the product — a panel with a flame-polished edge floating on standoffs looks machined, and the same panel with a saw-cut edge looks like something ordered online.

Which is why we do the whole job ourselves. Acrylic sign printing, cutting the panel to size, finishing the edge and drilling for the standoffs all happen here, on sheet we hold in stock. Nothing gets sent out and comes back a shade off, and nothing waits a week on a subcontractor.

It also means acrylic prints and acrylic signs come from the same place. Whether you want a photographic panel, a reception logo wall or a set of twelve door plates, it is the same sheet, the same finish and the same people answering the phone about it.

The commercial half of what we make in acrylic — the panels a visitor reads on the way in.

Acrylic Lobby & Reception Signs

Logo walls, mission statements and reception branding on 1/4″ panels floated on standoffs. Where the logo needs physical depth we build it with cut letters mounted to the panel. See lobby signs.

Acrylic Office Signs & Room ID

Department markers, conference room panels and floor identification, usually on frosted acrylic because it reads cleanly under office lighting without throwing glare.

Acrylic Door Signs & Name Plates

Suite plates, door numbers, and desk or wall acrylic name plates. An acrylic name plate is the smallest thing we cut — small, quick, and the item most often ordered as a matching set. Pairs with name plates and ADA signs.

Acrylic Plaques & Donor Walls

Recognition plaques, award panels, dedication and donor walls. Layered acrylic gives a donor wall a physical hierarchy that a printed board cannot. See plaques.

The basics

What Is Acrylic Sign Board?

Acrylic sign board is a rigid plastic sheet used for printed graphics, lettering, logos, and display panels. Clear acrylic can be printed on the front or reverse, while white, coloured, and frosted sheets provide different backgrounds and levels of light transmission. The material can be cut to size, drilled, routed, and polished, making it suitable for wall signs, reception signs, menu boards, plaques, and display panels.

Acrylic signs, acrylic prints, plexiglass signs, Lucite, and Perspex are terms used for products made from acrylic sheet. Plexiglas, Lucite, and Perspex are brand names, while “plexiglass” is a common general term. An acrylic sign may feature cut lettering or a logo, whereas an acrylic print usually carries a photograph or full-colour image. Both are made from the same type of sheet material.

Acrylic Prints: Printed, Face-Mounted and Photo Panels

The other half. An acrylic print is a graphic or photograph read through the panel rather than off it — which is what gives it depth a flat board never has.

Direct-Printed Acrylic Signs and Panels

Artwork UV-cured onto the panel over a white underbase so colours stay solid. The fastest and most economical route, and how most custom acrylic prints for offices are made.

Face-Mounted Acrylic Photo Prints

A photographic print optically bonded to the back of clear acrylic, then backed with a rigid board. Acrylic photo prints made this way deepen the blacks and lift saturation — the reason galleries and hotel groups specify them.

Acrylic Wall Art & Large Panels

Corporate art programmes, hospitality interiors, clinic and practice walls. We cut from full sheet, so acrylic wall art up to roughly 48″ × 96″ is one uninterrupted panel rather than a seam down the middle.

Most Jobs Are Both

The build we make most often is a printed acrylic backer with cut acrylic or metal letters mounted on top — full-colour artwork and physical depth in one piece. That is why acrylic prints and acrylic signs sit on the same page rather than in separate corners of the site: on a reception wall they are usually the same order.

Specification

Clear, Frosted and Coloured Acrylic — Thickness and Sizes

Two decisions carry most acrylic jobs: which sheet, and how thick. Here is both, side by side.

Sheet we stock

Clear Clear acrylic signs are the classic floating panel. Needs a white underbase behind printed artwork, or the wall shows through.
Frosted / Satin Frosted acrylic signs read cleanly under office downlights with no glare. The default for room and door signage.
White An opaque print surface where you want the graphic to carry, not the material. Closest to a painted panel.
Black Cut lettering, plaques and layered builds. A polished black edge is the sharpest line acrylic makes.
Coloured & Non-Glare Colour through the full thickness, plus non-glare sheet for panels facing a window.

Thickness, sizes and finishing

1/8″ (3mm)
Door signs, name plates, small flush-mounted panels.
1/4″ (6mm)
Our standard for standoff-mounted lobby and office signage up to roughly 36″ × 48″.
3/8″ & 1/2″
Large panels, layered builds, and anywhere the visible edge is part of the design.
Sizes
Cut to size from full sheet — single panels to roughly 48″ × 96″. Larger walls split into aligned panels with a deliberate reveal.
Edge finish
Saw cut, flame polished or diamond polished. Worth specifying on anything standoff-mounted, where the edge is visible from the side.
Cutting
Laser cutting for polished-edge shapes and letters, CNC for thicker sheet. See acrylic cutting.
Print methods
First-surface direct UV, second-surface reverse printing, or face-mounted photographic bonding.
Quantities
No minimum. One panel through to a full building set, with price per sign falling as the set grows.

Installation

Mounting Acrylic Signs: Standoffs, Flush and Free-Standing

Hardware ships with the order, and every standoff job comes with a drilling template — a barrel through a letter cannot be undone.

Standoff Mounting

The barrels do the work. A polished spacer holds the panel a fixed distance off the wall, so the sign floats and throws a shadow behind it — the reason a standoff-mounted acrylic sign reads as installed rather than stuck on.

Flush to the Wall

No gap, no shadow, no hardware showing. Flush suits frosted and white acrylic, where there is no polished edge to show off in the first place, and anywhere the panel needs to read as part of the wall rather than as an object on it.

Free-Standing and Suspended

Panels that never touch a wall. A base holds the acrylic upright on a counter or desk, cut feet let a shaped panel stand on its own, and suspended fixings hang a sign from the ceiling where there is no wall to use — above a reception desk, or down the middle of an open floor.

Why order from us

Why Our Customers Order Acrylic Signs From Us

Gogi Signs has made signage in New Jersey since 2005, with printing, laser cutting, CNC routing, and installation all under one roof.

That matters with acrylic, where small errors—rough edges, missing white underbases, or misplaced holes—can ruin a finished panel. Keeping printing and fabrication together also ensures printed panels and cut letters match in the same order.

We Cut It, We Do Not Order It In

Laser and CNC in-house, so a polished edge is standard rather than an upcharge conversation with a subcontractor.

We Flag the Underbase Before Printing

Printing on clear without white behind it lets the wall show through. We show you both at proof rather than after.

Templates, Not Guesswork

Every standoff order ships with a drilling template, because a hole in the wrong place is permanent.

Sets Cut Together

Twelve door plates come off one sheet in one run, so the frost and the polish match across all twelve.

Comparison

Acrylic Compared With Other Rigid Panels

Acrylic is the most expensive panel we print and the only one that looks like glass. Both facts matter.

How We Make Your Custom Acrylic Signs and Prints

1

Send the details

Panel size, quantity, the wall it is going on and how you want it mounted. Vector artwork in AI, EPS, PDF or SVG, or high-resolution imagery for photographic work.

2

Get a quote

A price for the acrylic sign printing, the cutting and the hardware, plus a production date, back the same working day. If a different sheet or thickness suits the job better, we say so before you commit.

3

Approve the proof

A proof at actual size showing standoff positions and how the artwork sits against the edge. Second-surface work is proofed mirrored so nothing prints backwards.

4

Collect or delivered

Printed, cut, edges finished and holes drilled to the template. Collect from Linden, delivered with the film still on, or fitted by our crews.

FAQs

Acrylic Signs and Acrylic Prints — Frequently Asked Questions

Acrylic is a rigid clear plastic sheet, also sold as Plexiglas, Lucite and Perspex. Sign work uses cast acrylic where edge quality and flatness matter, and extruded acrylic where cost matters more. It comes clear, frosted, white, black and coloured, and every panel is cut to size rather than bought in a fixed size.

Yes. Plexiglas is a trademark for acrylic sheet, and plexiglass is how most people spell it when they search. Lucite and Perspex are the same material under different brands. Everything on this page — plexiglass signs, acrylic signage, printed panels — comes off the same sheet on the same machines.

An acrylic sign is usually a cut panel carrying a logo, lettering or a room name, mounted on standoffs. An acrylic print is a graphic or photograph printed onto the panel, or bonded behind it, so the image is viewed through the acrylic. We make both on the same machines, and plenty of jobs are both at once — a printed panel with cut lettering mounted over it.

1/8″ suits door signs, acrylic name plates and small flush-mounted panels. 1/4″ is the standard for standoff-mounted lobby and office signage up to roughly 36″ × 48″. 3/8″ and 1/2″ are used on large panels, layered builds, and anywhere the polished edge is part of the design.

Yes. Clear acrylic signs, frosted acrylic signs, white, black and coloured sheet are all printable. Frosted is a common choice for office and conference room signage because it reads cleanly without glare. Printing on clear normally needs a white underbase behind the artwork — without it the wall colour shows through the graphics.

Standoff barrels are the most common — polished or brushed metal spacers that hold the panel off the wall so it floats and casts a shadow. Flush options include VHB tape, French cleats and back-mounted hangers, and free-standing panels sit in aluminium or acrylic bases. Hardware and a drilling template ship with every order.

Several years indoors or under cover. PVC does not absorb water, rot or delaminate, and it holds its shape. Outdoors the limit is UV and heat on large unshaded panels rather than the material itself failing.

Acrylic weathers reasonably well, but printed acrylic is best treated as an interior or covered-exterior product. For full sun and weather we would specify UV-stable inks and second-surface printing, or move the sign onto Dibond, which is built for permanent exterior life.

No. We produce a single room sign and a full building wayfinding set on the same equipment. Your price per sign falls as the quantity increases, and matched sets price better than the same panels ordered one at a time.

We cut from full sheet, so most panels up to roughly 48″ × 96″ come out as a single uninterrupted piece. Larger walls are produced as aligned panels with a deliberate reveal between them rather than forced into one sheet.

Size, thickness, print method, edge finish and mounting hardware set the price. Door signs and name plates are the entry point; standoff-mounted lobby panels sit at the upper end. Send dimensions and where the sign is going for a firm number — and a matching set prices better than the same panels ordered one at a time.

Yes. We produce in Linden, Union County, and deliver and install across New Jersey and the wider tri-state area including New York City. Installation matters most on standoff-mounted work, where the drilling has to be right the first time.

Acrylic Signs and Prints Across New Jersey and NYC

Every panel is printed, cut and polished in Linden, Union County, then delivered or installed across the tri-state area.

Interior acrylic work is scheduled around the building rather than the shop. Reception walls get fitted before the office opens, tenant plates go up between lease dates, and a set of conference room signs arrives on the day the furniture does.

Searching for acrylic signs near me usually means a wall that needs sorting this month. Send us the dimensions and a photo of the space — we are close enough to come and look at it.
