Gogi Signs has been making signage for New Jersey businesses since 2005 from our shop in Linden, Union County. Dibond is what we reach for when a customer asks for a sign that should still look right in five years without anyone touching it.
Dibond printing is only the first step on most of these jobs, and dibond printing alone is not what makes an exterior sign last. The panel gets routed to shape on our CNC, sometimes routed and folded to give a flat sheet a returned edge, and then fixed to a wall or a frame by people who have to get it level and leave it safe. Because exterior signs are permanent, the work around them matters as much as the panel itself — measuring the wall properly, getting you the drawings your township asks for, and turning up with the right access equipment on the day.

The sign above the door. Cut to the fascia, mounted on concealed fixings, and specified to survive road salt, summer sun and whatever the winter does. Most need a municipal permit, and we supply the drawings you submit for it.

Dibond is an aluminum composite panel made from two thin aluminum sheets bonded to a polyethylene core. It has a metal surface, weighs less than solid aluminum, and stays flat over large areas. It does not rust or absorb water, so it works well for outdoor signs.
Dibond, ACM, and aluminum composite signs describe the same type of panel. Dibond is a brand made by 3A Composites; Alupanel, Maxmetal, and Omega Bond are other brands. Compared with .040″ or .063″ solid aluminum, Dibond is lighter and often costs less for larger signs. Solid aluminum is usually used for smaller parking, traffic, and regulatory signs.

You get the weather resistance and finish of metal at a fraction of the weight, on a panel that stays flat across large spans. It is the standard choice for permanent exterior signage.
Yes. Dibond is a brand name owned by 3A Composites; the generic product is aluminum composite material, usually shortened to ACM. Alupanel, Maxmetal and Omega Bond are other brands of the same construction. ACM signs, aluminum composite signs and Dibond signs all describe the same panel.
No. An aluminum sign is solid sheet, typically .040″ or .063″. Dibond is a composite — aluminium skins over a plastic core. Dibond is lighter for its rigidity, stays flatter at size and costs less on large panels; solid aluminium suits small signs such as parking and regulatory plates. See metal signs.
Years in full exterior weather. Dibond does not rust, does not absorb water and will not warp off its mounts. The practical limit is UV fade on the printed graphics rather than the panel failing — UV-stable inks and a protective laminate extend that considerably.
We stock 3mm and 6mm. 3mm covers most flat wall-mounted signage and is our standard for storefront and tenant panels. 6mm is specified for large unsupported spans, post-and-panel installations, and anywhere the panel has to resist flexing in wind.
Matte white is the standard print surface. Brushed aluminum signs and mirror finishes give a metallic look without the cost or weight of solid metal, matte black suits hospitality and contemporary frontage, and coloured sheet is available where the colour needs to run through the skin rather than be printed on.
We assist with the paperwork rather than filing it for you. Most permanent exterior signage needs municipal approval, and many properties also require landlord sign-off. We produce the scaled elevation drawings, specifications and material data those applications ask for, and we will tell you what your township is likely to want — but the application itself is filed by you or your contractor.

Flat panels go on concealed cleats, stud mounting with spacers, or direct fixing with capped fasteners. Larger signage goes onto a post-and-panel frame or a fabricated subframe. Our own crews install, including lift access and out-of-hours work where the site requires it.
