Ultraboard typically comes with white core and facings, black core and facings, or a combination of black core with white facings (Zebra). The choice of color depends on the intended use and installation location. White facings are preferred for printing to ensure accurate and vibrant colors, while black facings may be used for specific applications like photograph mounting or hand painting.
Graphics are applied to Ultraboard using digital printing with CMYK UV inks, ensuring clear and sharp images on the smooth surface of the board. Alternatively, designs can be printed on pressure-activated vinyl film and then applied to Ultraboard. Lamination with matte or glossy finishes provides additional protection and enhances the appearance of the signage.
Ultraboard signs are designed to last over ten years indoors. They are moisture-resistant, resistant to warping, corrosion, and scratches, and have a high-impact core. The PVC material is also 100% recyclable. However, Ultraboard is not suitable for prolonged outdoor use as it can crack under extreme weather conditions. It can be temporarily used outdoors in sheltered areas but should be stored indoors.
