A Main Street shop is read by people on the sidewalk. A store on Prospect Avenue is read from a car. A tenant at Essex Green answers to the landlord first. We look at which of these you are before we draw anything.
We have made signs since 2005 and serve all of Essex County from Linden.
West Orange, New Jersey
West Orange has several kinds of commercial space in one township. There is a walkable Main Street downtown, busy avenues, and two large shopping centers at the I-280 interchanges. A sign that works in one can get lost in another, so we start with the setting.
Downtown Main Street. Shops and restaurants line Route 124, with town parking behind the buildings. People pass on foot here, so blade signs, awnings and window graphics do much of the work. Clear channel letters help drivers passing through.
Eagle Rock and Prospect avenues. Retail strips, restaurants, banks and services sit on roads that carry tens of thousands of cars a day. Bold channel letters, lit cabinets and high contrast graphics give drivers time to react. One scope note. We do not offer pylon or monument signs. Larger West Orange properties are made identifiable with wall mounted building signs, channel letters, dimensional lettering, entrance graphics, directional signs and window graphics instead.
West Orange Plaza and Essex Green. West Orange Plaza (Whole Foods, Target) sits at Eagle Rock and Prospect. Essex Green Town Center (ShopRite, AMC and national restaurants) sits at Prospect and Rooney Circle. Tenants there follow the landlord’s sign criteria. We design storefront signs that meet those rules and still stand out.
Office, medical and mixed use buildings. Offices and medical practices across the township, including those near Saint Barnabas Medical Center, need directories, suite signs, ADA room signs and wayfinding that guide people through shared buildings.
What We Make

Lobby letters, suite and ADA signs, and directories for professional and medical offices, including buildings near Saint Barnabas.

Channel letters, light boxes, blade signs, carved and hand painted signs, and awnings for Main Street fronts and the avenue retail strips.

Window lettering for Main Street shops, frosted film for offices, and wall graphics for spaces in the Valley Arts District.

Van lettering and wraps for West Orange trades and delivery businesses working across Essex County.

Banners, backdrops and banner stands for Main Street events and grand openings at the I-280 centers.

Hand finished, cut and engraved pieces, plus neon and backdrop rentals, for jobs that fall outside a standard sign.
Rules & Approvals
West Orange’s sign requirements sit in Chapter 25 of the township’s Revised General Ordinances, with shopping-center landlord criteria layered on top at West Orange Plaza and Essex Green.
Where you are in town changes the answer. Chapter 25, §25-15.3 “Allowed Signage” applies across the township. Signs must relate only to the premises, products or activities on the property. The shopping centers then add landlord criteria.
Township-wide
Chapter 25, §25-15.3 sets the baseline
The township’s “Allowed Signage” section defines what may be displayed and where. We check your district’s size, placement, and illumination limits before we draw a single line.
Sidewalk signs
A-frames need Zoning Officer approval
Under §25-15.3(c)(1)(c)(7), a sidewalk sign may only be erected with final approval from the Township Zoning Officer, plus a fee set by resolution. If you want an A-frame outside a Main Street shop, we’ll confirm exactly what’s required.
Shopping centers
Landlord criteria bind first
West Orange Plaza and Essex Green Town Center publish their own sign criteria. They set letter types, colors, lighting, cabinet build and directory layouts. A sign the township would allow can still fail center review, so we get the criteria before anything goes to production.
The application is yours or your landlord’s to file. We draw the sign and supply the details the township asks for. We need the exact address before production, since Main Street, the avenues and the centers each work differently.
Why Gogi Signs
We design the sign, build it in Linden and install it with our own crew. If it needs work later, the same team comes back. For a Main Street shop or an Essex Green tenant, that means one call instead of three vendors.
We understand the needs of businesses on West Orange’s Main Street, its retail arterials, and inside its shopping centers.
We size every layout to your wall and the Chapter 25 rules, with your brand front and center.
Our Linden shop is about 20 minutes away, so samples, changes and builds stay close to home.
Our installers fit the sign and tidy the sidewalk before they leave.
Weather rated aluminum and acrylic that hold their color through North Jersey summers and winters.
One team covers the sign for its whole life, from first sketch to final removal.
Beyond the Main Sign
On Main Street especially, the awning and the window often do as much as the wall sign.

Fabric awnings with lettered valances for Main Street storefronts and restaurant entrances. They add shade and a second place for your name.

Window lettering for hours and services, frosted film for offices, and seasonal sale graphics. The glass is where Main Street foot traffic reads you first.

Lettering, logos and phone numbers for trade vans and service fleets based in Essex County, made from the same files as your storefront sign.
I-280 & Arterial Corridors
Much of West Orange’s retail faces I-280, Eagle Rock Avenue or Prospect Avenue. These roads carry tens of thousands of cars a day, and most customers arrive by car. On these sites we look at:
Repair & Refacing
West Orange has years of signs on Main Street, along Eagle Rock and Prospect, and inside its two big shopping centers. Over time LEDs fail, faces fade and tenant names change.
We fix and reface signs even when another shop built them. That includes lit letter repairs, new cabinet faces, awning recovers and directory updates. When you take over a space, we check what the last tenant left before we quote a new sign.
You get a straight call on it: repair, reface or rebuild.

Serving West Orange
We serve West Orange businesses along and around:
We’re based in Linden: about 20 minutes from West Orange via the Garden State Parkway and I-280, and we serve businesses across Essex County. That proximity means site surveys happen fast, installs get scheduled quickly, and if a sign ever needs service, we’re not a phone call across the state away.
Being local to North Jersey also means we work in West Orange’s code environment regularly: Chapter 25’s sign rules, Zoning Officer approvals for sidewalk signs, and the landlord criteria at West Orange Plaza and Essex Green. You get one point of contact from survey to final walkthrough, and a sign built for the exact block, corridor, or shopping center it will live on.
Nearby service areas: West Orange is part of our Essex County sign company coverage. We also serve nearby businesses through our Montclair sign company, East Orange sign services and Bloomfield business signs pages.
