Shore Business Signage
— Sign Company Serving the Jersey Shore
It is not one commercial district. It is a long chain of downtowns, beachfront businesses, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, professional offices, medical practices, shopping centers, service companies and seasonal businesses stretching through Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
A restaurant in Asbury Park does not need the sign plan a Route 37 business in Toms River needs. A Red Bank office building works differently from a Long Branch hotel. A Freehold commercial property is not designed around the same customer approach as a storefront near the beach. That is why the Shore works better as a regional service area than as one generic location — and why the first question is always the same.
Gogi Signs handles storefront signs, channel letters, dimensional lettering, custom awnings, projecting signs where permitted, window graphics, directories, ADA signs, hospitality signage, office identification, event graphics, vehicle graphics, tenant changes and commercial sign repair — from site survey through installation.
— Where We Work
Each of these carries enough of its own regulatory and physical conditions to be worth reading separately before a project starts.
County
The countywide picture — Route 9 and the western corridors, the shore communities, and the dozens of separate municipalities between them, each with its own sign rules.
Shore & Entertainment
Eight separate redevelopment areas, each able to carry its own sign standards — the address decides the rulebook before any dimension does.
Shore City
Oceanfront hospitality and Pier Village retail alongside a working city, with wall signs uniform across five districts and projecting signs that are not.
Walkable Downtown
Historic design guidance, RiverCenter district review, and no internally illuminated exterior signs downtown — a market that decides the product, not just the size.
Township Scale
Routes 35 and 36, neighborhood business areas and several active redevelopment areas — where an adopted plan can supersede the general sign chapter.
Corridors & Distribution
Routes 33, 35 and 66, a two-part wall-sign formula, and warehouse and distribution property along Green Grove Road.
Ocean County
Downtown Main and Washington Street, the Route 37 and Hooper Avenue corridors, and a sign code split across two chapters.
Route 9 Corridor
Two separate municipalities sharing a name — a walkable Borough downtown with historic sign standards, and a Township built around Route 9 retail.
— Coastal Exposure
This is the part of Shore work that has nothing to do with the ordinance. Wind, salt air, moisture, heavy rain, seasonal temperature swings and high summer sun all act on an exterior sign, and they act on it continuously. A specification that lasts a decade twenty miles inland can look tired here in three seasons.
So the fabrication decisions carry more weight than usual:
— Two Scales
Shore downtowns work at pedestrian scale. A customer notices the business from across the street, approaches along the sidewalk, and finally relies on the windows or door for detail. That gives a storefront several surfaces — wall-mounted identification built around the storefront width and architecture, dimensional letters, channel letters where the municipality and building allow them, blade and projecting signs on eligible storefronts, fabric awnings, window graphics carrying hours and promotions, and door identification for suite information and pickup instructions. The storefront reads more clearly when each surface carries a specific kind of information.
The corridors are the reverse. A business on Route 9, 35, 36 or 37 may be seen from far away, so the sign is sized around where the property first becomes visible, larger façades need broader and simpler identification, letters and logo need real separation from the building and its surroundings, permitted illumination helps after dark, and the name and logo should dominate — phone numbers, websites and service lists belong elsewhere. Windows, doors, parking signs and directional graphics then carry the supporting information once customers are on the property.
The same principle drives both, from opposite directions: the sign communicates more by saying less. Downtown that means splitting the message across surfaces; on the highway it means cutting it.

— How It Works
Gogi Signs has served New Jersey businesses since 2005. Our team handles the work before, during and after fabrication.
01
Site Survey
We measure the storefront, building, hotel, office, facility or interior area and document the existing signage, mounting conditions and exposure.
02
Design and Planning
Artwork is fitted to the actual property, available sign area, customer approach, materials, construction and that municipality’s requirements.
03
Fabrication and Printing
Approved work moves through fabrication, cutting, large-format printing, vinyl production, finishing and electrical assembly where applicable.
04
Installation
Our insured installation crew coordinates access, removes existing signage where that is included, and installs the finished signs and graphics.
05
Future Service
When tenants change, lighting needs repair, seasonal graphics need replacing or another location opens, we continue from the existing sign program.
— Hotels & Wayfinding
— Seasonal Graphics
Shore businesses change messaging constantly — opening weekend, summer hours, special events, holiday campaigns, concerts, sales, seasonal menus, short promotions. None of that should force the permanent signage to be redesigned.
We produce the changing layer separately: window graphics, banners, printed boards, event signs, sponsor signs, directional graphics, wall graphics, vinyl lettering, temporary entrance signs and short-term displays. The permanent sign stays the long-term business identity; the temporary material handles what moves.
Windows do most of that work, because they can change without touching the building sign at all — carrying logo and secondary identification, seasonal hours, entrance information, reservations or pickup instructions, events, sales, new products, entertainment schedules, frosted or decorative privacy film, and coming-soon graphics for new tenants and construction periods. The main sign still identifies the business from a distance; the window handles what matters closer in. Planned that way, a business can turn its window over four times a year and never re-permit a thing.
— Medical & Professional
Medical offices, professional services, real estate companies, financial businesses, healthcare providers and corporate offices operate throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties — and for them the exterior sign is only the beginning.
A coordinated package covers building signs and tenant identification; lobby directories with tenant names, floors and suite information; reception signs in dimensional logos, acrylic panels, metal lettering, plaques and wall graphics; suite signs with office names, room numbers, departments and replaceable tenant plaques; ADA tactile and Braille identification; privacy graphics for offices, treatment rooms, conference rooms and glass partitions; and wayfinding connecting entrances, elevators, offices, departments and shared spaces.
On a multi-tenant property a consistent interior system is frequently worth more than a larger exterior sign. The exterior sign is read once; the interior system is read by every visitor, every day, and it is what determines whether they arrive at the right door without asking.

What the changeover covers
— Repair & Refacing
Between the weather and a large inventory of existing commercial signage, Shore properties generate steady service needs. LEDs fail, sign faces crack, letters loosen, vinyl fades, awning fabric wears, brackets corrode, window graphics go out of date and tenant names change.
Gogi Signs repairs and updates commercial signage even when another company originally fabricated it:
