Sign Company in Bayonne

Custom Signs for Bayonne Businesses

Bayonne has two very different business areas. Broadway is the city’s main street. It is lined with local shops, restaurants, offices, medical practices and mixed-use buildings. Head east toward Route 440 and the scale changes. There you find larger stores, warehouses, industrial buildings, distribution businesses and sites built around highway traffic.

Since 2005, our New Jersey team has made all kinds of signs for local businesses. That includes storefront signs, channel letters, dimensional lettering, custom awnings and window graphics. It also includes office signs, directories, ADA signs, warehouse signs and vehicle graphics. We handle tenant changes and ongoing sign service too.

Two Sign Environments

Broadway and Route 440 Create Two Different Sign Environments

The City’s economic development plan names Broadway as a priority area for investment. Broadway has been the center of Bayonne’s business life for more than a century. Route 440 works differently. Its redevelopment plan describes retail built around the highway, where drivers need to see the property directly.

Read at close range

Signs are seen by people on foot, local drivers, transit riders and customers walking up to each storefront.

Pedestrian first Read from a moving vehicle

Signs have to read across parking lots, from moving cars, or across a wide building front.

The same logo can need a very different sign in each part of Bayonne.

Broadway Storefronts

Storefront Signs for Broadway Businesses

Broadway is one of the best known business streets in Bayonne. Customers see several storefronts at once, at close range. It works better to split the jobs than to load everything onto the main sign:

Putting every message on one outside sign usually makes the storefront harder to read.

How It Works

From Site Survey Through Installation

Gogi Signs has served New Jersey businesses since 2005.

01

Site Survey

We measure the site. We look at the sign area, the building, how customers arrive and the rules for the address.

02

Design and Planning

We fit the artwork to your space, its materials and the property rules. We also plan for how people will see it.

03

Fabrication and Printing

Once you approve, we build it in our shop. That covers cutting, large format printing, vinyl, finishing and wiring where needed.

04

Installation

Our insured install crew sets up site access. They remove old signs when that is part of the job, then install the new signs and graphics.

05

Future Service

Later a tenant may change, lights may need repair or graphics may need replacing. You may open another location. We can pick up from the same project.

Route 440 & Larger Sites

Route 440 Signs Need to Be Read From Farther Away

A sign that works on a Broadway storefront can get lost on a larger Route 440 property. The redevelopment plan for Route 440 says highway retail there depends on being seen by drivers.

Warehouse & Logistics

Warehouse and Industrial Signs Need to Organize the Property

Bayonne’s east side has long been home to factories, storage, distribution and transport. Current Route 440 plans still make room for factories, warehouses, distribution and truck traffic there.

Sign Rules & Permits

Bayonne Has Its Own Sign Regulations

Bayonne’s zoning code has its own sign section, Section 35-25. It covers permits, commercial and highway commercial districts, industrial districts and upkeep. It also sets general rules and covers older signs that no longer meet the rules.

What the address decides:

Two layers sit on top of the zoning

Redevelopment plans. Bayonne keeps adding redevelopment plans for single sites, on Broadway and elsewhere in the city. So zoning alone may not tell the whole story.

Property sign criteria. A shopping center, managed building or multi-tenant property may have its own sign rules. They can set letter height, sign position, logo size, materials and colors. They can also cover lighting, raceways, mounting, window graphics and existing wiring. Send those rules with your project details. We design around them, so the sign does not need changes later.

Check the exact property address before the final sign specs are approved. You or your landlord file the application. We help with drawings and paperwork, but we do not file permits for you.

Who We Work With

Businesses We Serve in Bayonne

We work with Broadway shops, Route 440 stores, offices, medical practices and the warehouses on the east side of the city.

Nearby service areas: Bayonne is part of our Hudson County sign company coverage. We also serve nearby businesses through our Jersey City sign company, Elizabeth sign services and Newark business signs pages.

Retail Stores

Storefront signs, channel letters, dimensional letters, window graphics, awnings and promo graphics.

Restaurants and Hospitality

Signs guide guests from the sidewalk to the pickup counter. Outside, that means the main sign, awning, window hours, menus and entrance notes. Inside, it means menu graphics and pickup signs.

Medical and Healthcare

Building signs, directories, reception signs, privacy film, ADA signs and indoor wayfinding.

Professional Offices

Customers may pass several signs before they reach the right office. That means outside signs, entrance graphics, directories, reception signs, suite signs and privacy graphics.

Mixed-Use Buildings

A ground floor tenant needs a storefront sign. An upper floor office needs a directory. The shared entrance needs tenant listings, and each floor needs directional signs.

Warehouses and Industrial

Building signs, dock and door numbers, shipping and receiving signs, direction signs, indoor signs and vehicle graphics.

Property Managers

Tenant changes, directories, replacement signs, parking signs, repairs, temporary leasing graphics and sign removal.

Service and Contracting Companies

Vehicle lettering, building signs, office signs, decals, banners and business graphics.

Tenant Changeover

Moving Into a Former Bayonne Storefront?

An empty business space may already have useful sign parts. Before we replace everything, we look at what is really there.

What you may inherit

A cabinet in good shape may only need a new face. An awning frame may take new fabric. A directory may only need the old tenant’s panel swapped. Existing wiring can sometimes power the new sign.

What the changeover covers

Other parts may be damaged, the wrong size or a poor fit for the new business. Those come off.

Repair & Refacing

Sign Repair, Refacing, and Replacement in Bayonne

Bayonne has many older business signs on Broadway storefronts, Route 440 properties, offices and industrial buildings. Over time, LEDs fail, sign faces fade and letters come loose. Vinyl wears, awning fabric ages and tenant names change. Directories go out of date and electrical parts fail.

Gogi Signs repairs and updates business signs, even when another company built them. Common service work includes:

If the old sign is still sound, a repair or a new face may make more sense. When repair is no longer practical, we can build a new sign.

Serving Bayonne

Serving Businesses Throughout Bayonne

We work with businesses throughout Bayonne, including properties along and around:

Broadway still gets economic development attention as Bayonne’s main business street. Route 440 has a very different mix of highway retail, warehouse, distribution and industrial uses. Recent City actions show more redevelopment on Broadway and at other Bayonne sites.

That is why the property address tells us more than a general description of the business.
